Apatite woven copper wire pendant

 To create her I weaves together 5 strands of wire to create a pattern which the bent around the stone and secured firmly around her
The wire to make her back was bent to shape and then hammered for extra strength, some smaller gauge wire was weaved and swirled in the back to create a “seat“ for the beautiful Apatite to sit in the framework.
After all that more decorative swirls we’re created for the bail.
After everything was tweaked to make sure everything sits right, the piece needs to be scrubbed with soapy water aswell as with vinegar and bicarbonate to remove any flux… after that it gets oxidised and again scrubbed. To finish off the pendant undergoes a 2 step polish ( one by hand and then with the dremel)
And finally a layer of sealant is applied to prevent the metal from unsightly oxidation and greening.  I very much love the process of creating a pice of art from just a piece of wire and I hope you also appreciate the work that has gone into it.
